I will start from the basic definition of Wasserstein distance $W_2$ on the set of probability measures over a metric space $(X,d)$, and describe the links between the geometric properties of $X$ (es. existence of geodesics) and those of the space $(P_2,W_2)$. The seminar requires no a priori knowledge of the subject.
